Conductors' Academy: Final concert

The Belgian Wies De Boevé has been playing solo double bass in the orchestra for a year - now he can also be experienced as a soloist. He presents a concerto by Giovanni Bottesini, who was himself a virtuoso on this instrument (and also a sought-after conductor who premiered Verdi's "Aida", among other works). Like the other works in the programme, Bottesini's double bass concerto will be conducted by the participants of the Conductors' Academy, which is taking place for the first time before the start of the season. And even though all the pieces were composed in the 19th century: The young conductors will be able to demonstrate their skills in very different styles.
